GOVERNORS ISLAND

This past Memorial Day weekend Sean and I took the ferry ride from the end of Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn over to my favorite place in NYC, Governors Island! The island is a 172 public park full of quiet paths and myriad buildings from when the island served as a base for the military and their families. I love spending the day biking around, dining al fresco, and wandering in and out of the various pop-up shops and art installations throughout the park. There are so few immersive experiences in life, and traveling such a short distance from bustling Brooklyn to this idillic park in the middle of New York Harbor is one. I can't imagine a better way to spend a spring or summer day in New York.

Hi, I'm Courtney! I'm a Bostonian living in Brooklyn, trading one great city for another. I'm inspired by city life, a steady intake of books, and the famous New England dry-wit.
