As anyone who knows me will tell you, I am a HUGE Janelle Monáe fan. So I was sooo excited when I found out she would be performing the opening Celebrate Brooklyn concert series this year. Inspired by my love for Ms. Monáe as well as Brooklyn, I decided to create this poster. I can't recommend highly enough checking this woman out in concert. She is a force to be reckoned with on stage! That combined with her catchy tunes and positive message makes her the best artist out there right now (in my opinion). The Brooklyn concert will be the 3rd time I'll be seeing her in concert this year(!!!) So if you're in the area make it your beeswax to get there! I'll be in line promptly at 3.

This is the first in what I hope to be a series of blueprint inspired designs. I mean blueprint in only the loosest term. I am someone who always appreciates order and detail and I've always found something beautiful in the order and design of blueprints. So from that inspiration point I decided to create this poster of a dinghy sailboat.
