I’m working with an artist and holistic healer right now who has a great vision for her practice and her visual voice. Overall, we are creating a look that is sophisticated, yet approachable, with a modern take on Art Nouveau. It was important to also keep the idea of the creative process present, represented through the dash of gold paint at the bottom. This moodboard took some time, but it’s so exciting when it all comes together and works so well! I can't wait to share more on this project soon!

Today's edition of Lady Quotes is from Margaret Atwood's famous "The Handmaid's Tale." I remember falling in love with this book on a high school field trip, and then promptly leaving it on the bus... At any rate, I have since acquired a new copy and working on this piece has made me want to revisit the work. Also a good motto for anyone feeling in a funk like I was earlier this week.
These have been a long time coming! I mentioned earlier that I'm working on a series of blueprint inspired designs, and here are the next 2 in my series! I'm really excited about how these are turning out. Why is it that everything always takes longer than anticipated?
So last Wednesday was the opening night of Celebrate Brooklyn Concert Series, with non-other than my favorite, Janelle Monáe! Unfortunately my pics of the actual concert weren't coming out, so I decided to just put down the camera and enjoy the show. I did snap a shot of my view (before all the Gala attendees sat down), and my friend, Caroline, took a picture illustrating just how excited I was before Ms. Monáe's arrival onstage. But just so everyone can get an idea of how fantastic the show was, below are some pics by Karsten Moran for NYT. It was a beautiful day to wait in the park and everyone was in a great mood. And, of course, the concert was AMAZING! Knowing how awesome it would be, even the de Blasios attended! (another shot by Karsten Moran for NYT.)

Hi, I'm Courtney! I'm a Bostonian living in Brooklyn, trading one great city for another. I'm inspired by city life, a steady intake of books, and the famous New England dry-wit.
